The Modern Garden

Photos modern metal wall art & modern statue

The Modern Style Gardens of today are exciting they give innovative new designs and feel to gardens using an array of bold and colourful plants with many different forms, shapes and sizes. Some of the key elements in the Modern Style Gardens today are the use of large pots and planters in bold exciting colours, water features, sculptures, decking, screens, garden ornaments and many different types mulches and don't forget the garden lighting available today is just endless. There are many Nurseries around today that cater for the modern gardener, it is just a matter of finding one that is close by to you and let your imagination be your guide. A nursery that I like to visit in Melbourne is Banksia Nursery in Burwood Hwy, Wantirna South. They have a wonderful range of plants, a large range of seeds including some native seed, many colourful pots, iron garden seats, iron bikes, status and I do love their metal wall-art some of this is just stunning.

Some gardeners look to the old world for ideas and inspiration, while others are inspired by the new modern look with bright and bold colours in both plants and decor. No matter what inspires you to garden, the important thing is to enjoy what you are doing and if you are satisfied with the end result of your labour, then it's a job well done.

What Is A Sister

This beautiful poem is dedicated to my little sister
PAM
What would I do without you

What Is A Sister

A sister is someone who's been where you've been

Who knows you and what you're about

Someone you know you can call if you need to

When something's just not working out

A sister is someone, who's more then just family

Her friendship is one of a kind and the closeness you've shared

Through life's laughter and tears, is the deepest you'll ever find

I'm lucky to have a sister like you

I wouldn't trade our special relationship

For anything in this world

Nothing is more comfortable or more reassuring

Than knowing that you're always there

You make life so special just by being yourself

You've always been the best kind of sister

I just thought I'd say "thank you"

It is all to easy these days to become so busy we forget to stay in touch with the special people in our life's. Be it your mother, father, brother, sister, daughter, son, Nan, Pop, granddaughter, grandson, close friends. So take some time and write that letter, send that card, pick up that phone and make that call, this time of the year especially is a time to let your loved ones know that you care. My sister is very special to me and although we don't see each other as often as we would like, we are still as close today as we ever were.

Australian Gardens - Flowers on display

Australian Gardens - Flowers on display

These are some of the beautiful flowers that were in flower when I re-visited the gardens during med November. My husband and I have been visiting the Australian Gardens at least once each year since in opened in 2006. It has been wonderful to watch the growth in the gardens since it opened, especially the plants in the dry river bed, the arid garden area and the eucalypts through out the eucalypt walk.

A visit to these gardens leaves me in awe of what has been achieved here, the diversity of the
Australian landscape and Australian flora is showcased so well here in Cranbourne.
I hope if you have viewed this blog page and you ever have the opportunity to visit the gardens do so, you will not be disappointed.

I can hardly wait to see the finish of stage two of the Australian Garden in 2010/2011.
